Instead of capturing the entire DIY process, I decided to just share with you the before and after look at my new coffee table. The process wasn’t smooth as I expected, to say the least. At one point, my girlfriend and I gave up entirely after noticing never-ending air bubbles even after using a ruler, credit card, soft cloth to smooth it out. But… with persistence, I managed to pick up the marble contact paper again and completed the DIY, even if that meant staying up past midnight. What I took away from this daunting DIY is that it would have been a good idea to spray Windex over the coffee table prior to applying the contact paper to ease the peeling, clever to carefully measure before the initial application, and to use my hands instead of a credit card or sharp object because it would help alleviate scratches and permanent tears in the paper. In the end, I’m pretty impressed with how it turned out even though it’s not perfect. The coffee table now looks much more expensive and is less prone to dirt!

What do you think?
