Today, McMaster University’s Bachelor of Commerce Graduating Class of 2012 joined together to celebrate our successes after years of uncertainty, struggle and perseverance. I want to take this moment to congratulate my fellow graduates after four bittersweet years – we made it! The fond memories and friendships that were established on the grounds of McMaster University’s Hamilton campus will be cherished and remembered back upon. The learnings from the brilliant minds of DeGroote School of Business will be long engraved and I want to thank them for providing me with the opportunity and underlying foundation, which has encouraged me to explore a world of possibilities. Because of these individuals, I can truly say that I have been able to reach my dreams. Lastly, I would like to extend my greatest gratitude to my family. Without the unending and loving support from my family, I would not have been able to accomplish all that I have.
As taken away from today’s ceremony, twenty seconds of courage can open the doors to an abundance of great happenings. Those twenty seconds can give you the chance to pursue your dreams and create something that can possibly change the world. To commence only means to begin – I look forward to embark on a new chapter in my life.
