An abundance of photos from our Friday night Summerlicious dinner at Bymark. We were greeted by the great ambiance of the restaurant with a warm, clean and contemporary interior. I have to admit, my expectations were quite high especially after following Top Chef Canada and reading some wonderful reviews. We started off with two pleasant and light appetizers – the yellow tail tuna sashimi and the beef carpaccio. For our main, Terrance ordered the roasted chicken and chorizo sausage while I had the lamb loin, which were both rather disappointing. There was nothing special about the roasted chicken dish and my lamb was under cooked. On a brighter note, the dessert ended off the meal beautifully. Terrance had the chocolate marquise and I had the house made ice cream sandwich both with fresh fruits on the side, which were refreshing and delightful. For the price that we paid ($130), I wouldn’t say that we received our money’s worth, but at least we winded up with complimentary parking!

On Saturday, Terrance and I headed up to Bradford for a barbecue with my university friends. We spent the evening hours gorging on lightly marinated meat, sipping on white wine sangrias, roasting marshmallows for our s’mores by the bonfire, and playing rounds of beer pong and flip cup. To say the least, it was a full, well-rounded and beautiful weekend. Now I’m just helplessly scratching away my 11 mosquito bites.
