Nota Bene
May 22, 2011
Spent my Saturday night with a few enjoying a wonderful dinner at Nota Bene. Asides from the beautiful modern ambiance, another thing that stood out was the service. The employees were all very attentive, kind, and humorous. I think we all burst out laughing when a waiter refused to give my friend ketchup when he requested it until moments later (and this was after the waiter handed the rest of us a small dish filled with ketchup). I'd also like to add that he had the most charming accent and smirk..
I ordered the Saturday night dinner special, which was the Braised Veal Tortelloni, while the rest of the guys ordered the famous Wagyu Burger. I had a taste of the burger and it was impressively well-made (minus the soggy bottom bun) especially with the touch of grilled kimchi. The veal tortelloni was mediocre, but still considerably filling. For dessert, I ordered the Rhubarb Crumble which was a huge disappointment. The Sticky Toffee Pudding on the other hand, was delicious and a must-try.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a friendly atmosphere to gather around with friends for after work drinks or for a romantic date.
