Auberge du Pommier
July 10, 2010
For Summerlicious, Terrance and I, accompanied by two other friends, dined at Auberge du Pommier. We altered our reservations to lunch instead, which was better since we were able to fill in the rest of our day with Despicable Me and night at Main Street Unionville and the Night Market. The sun was up so we were able to capture some great photos outside of Auberge du Pommier. The décor was breathtaking. The French fine diner was beautifully embellished with a stone interior and soft dimmed lights. I loved the simplicity created through the white furnishings and the darling courtyard covered with flowers. The food portions were petite, but it was still considerably filling. I ordered the the Veloute aux Petit Pois (a chilled green pea and herb soup) as my starter dish. I wasn’t too fond of the mint taste and the colour of the soup, which is why I didn’t end up finishing it. As for the entrée, I ordered the Poulet Roti (roasted chicken), which was delicious. I wish I had ordered the quiche though because it tasted perfect after trying a bit of my friend’s. For dessert, I ordered the Bombe Framboise (raspberry mousse) and it was a very delightful sweet. Auberge du Pommier made my first Summerlicious experience a very pleasant one and I’m hoping to go back one day to try out their main menu.
Only a few photos out of the 326 that I took from the day, but I don't want to bombard this post with pictures.
